The Parish forms part of the Roman Bank and Peckover electoral division of Cambridgeshire County Council, which is held by the Conservative Party. District Councillors

At District Council level, Newton-in-the-Isle is part of the Roman Bank - Wisbech ward of Fenland District Council, where we are represented by three Conservative Councillors, Sam Clark, Michael Humphrey and Chris Seaton. The first directly elected mayor of the new Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority is James Palmer, the Conservative Party candidate, who was elected in May 2017 with a majority of 21,621 including second preference votes.
