Who's Who
Newton Parish Council is made up of seven elected Councillors, supported by the Parish Clerk, who meet regularly to make decisions on the work and direction of the council.
Members are elected for a 4-year term of office, with the next elections due in 2023. Vacancies arising between elections are filled by co-option, unless sufficient electors request a by-election. They meet six times each year in the Village Hall and the agendas and minutes of their meetings are displayed on this website and on the Parish noticeboard. A public meeting, known as the Parish Assembly, is held in March, which provides an opportunity for the local community to see the Parish Council at work and to discuss ideas or matters of concern.
